Access and Privacy

Three per-domain settings decide what your custom domain exposes and who can get an account through it: Privacy Options, Signin Settings, and Signup Settings. Each is configured on your Domain Dashboard, and each is domain-specific.

Privacy Options

Enhanced privacy features are part of the Identity Plus plan. Privacy Options are the per-domain controls that let you decide how much your custom domain exposes to visitors and how it behaves when people interact with it.

Depending on your configuration, these controls can include:

  • Whether your branded homepage is public or disabled.
  • Whether visitors may create secrets, or only open links you generate.
  • How recipients and senders experience your domain.

The goal is to let your custom domain match your organization’s privacy posture, rather than exposing more than you intend.

Signin Settings

Section titled “Signin Settings”

Signin Settings control how existing users authenticate when they access your custom domain. Where the Signup Settings described below govern account creation, Signin Settings govern account access — the login experience your users see on your branded domain.

Typical uses include:

  • Choosing which sign-in methods are available on your domain.
  • Requiring Single Sign-On (SSO) so users authenticate through your identity provider.
  • Aligning the sign-in experience with your organization’s security requirements.

Signup Settings

Signup Settings control whether — and how — new users can create an account through your custom domain. They let you decide who is allowed to onboard from your branded experience, rather than leaving signup open to anyone who finds the page.

Typical uses include:

  • Turning signup on or off for your domain.
  • Limiting who can sign up (for example, restricting to particular email domains).
  • Aligning the signup experience with your organization’s access policies.
